My best necklace and earrings

I have a friend who makes jewellery. She has all kinds of interesting beads and other bits and pieces that she uses to make necklaces, earrings, key rings and other nice things.

My friend gives jewellery parties from time to time and I usually try and go whenever she has one. I've bought lots of nice pieces from her.

Last time I went to a party I bought a necklace that has very heavy beads. Some of the larger beads are actually made from cowrie shell. They are from the middle bit of the shell, so they have this lovely swirly bit in the middle. The other beads are very colourful, so the necklace goes with lots of my clothes.

When I bought the necklace I talked to my friend about earrings to match it. I don't have pierced ears, so have to wear clip-on earrings. I only started to wear earrings within the last 5 or 6 years, so they're a bit out of my comfort zone.

Because of the lovely cheerful colours in my new necklace my friend said that I should have dangly earrings to go with it. I've never in my life worn anything like that before, so I wasn't really sure whether I would like long earrings instead of the usual type that I wore.

Anyhow, to cut a long story short, I got talked into having these earrings and now they're my second favourites. They look really good and I can wear them with the matching necklace or with one of my other necklaces. I don't wear them all the time but when I do I get comments about them.
